CLIPBOARDS: 3RC clipboards are made from limited-production PCBs that were manufactured in various sizes, from one inch up to about 24x40 inches, depending on their ultimate application. PCBs are made from ‘innerlayers’ – paper-thin, but
very strong and flexible sheets of fiberglass-epoxy upon which are created intricate circuits made of copper. These innerlayers are stacked and heated under pressure to produce a 3-dimensional composite. The layers are connected by “through-holes”, some thinner than a human hair. Electrical conductivity between the layers is accomplished by immersing the entire board in liquid solder inside a vacuum chamber. The solder coats the insides of the holes and allows electrons to flow between the layers. A PCB is therefore a complex 3-dimensional circuit. Modern PCBs can have as many as 30 layers. Electronic components such as resistors, transistors, capacitors, etc. are attached by soldering them to the surface of a board to produce a finished product, such as the motherboard of a computer.

Our medium size clipboards range in size from 8-3/4 " x 6", to 8-3/4” x 9”. They are made from recycled circuit boards that we repurposed into new functional green office products before they ended up in a landfill! The strong steel clip will hold a number of sheets of paper or a pad of paper. These recycled circuit boards have NEVER been 'stuffed' with chips and other electronic components, and therefore are very smooth to the touch. We suggest putting a single sheet of paper underneath the page on which you are writing; this will create a smooth writing surface without any “bumpy” feel.
Our clipboards are VERY strong and VERY durable, because they are made from a number of “innerlayers” of fiberglass that have been welded together with epoxy under heat and pressure. They will make great gifts to give to your child's sports coach at school, to a teacher, or for the geek who has everything except a clipboard made from a circuit board!
